Vallebelbo was founded in 1956 by the determination and pride of a group of about
seventy vine growers who were strongly motivated to escape from that
obvious underdeveloped agricultural world in comparison to the fast rising
industrial age of those days.
In those days it was a daring challenge to enter the market amongst the
giants of the Piedmontese wine industry, not just as a producer of raw
material to supply the wine industry, but also as a wine bottling company
with its own image and trademark.
The cellars, equipped with the basic technologies of those days, did not
transform more than 800 – 1000 tons of Moscato grapes per year, but in the
70’ they already had built a second plant suitable for red winemaking.
The company continued to grow bigger, and at the beginning of the 80’, the
construction of a revolutionary wine press plant put Vallebelbo in a
leading position for the transformation of Moscato grapes for the
production of Asti spumante.
In the meantime, thanks to the vineyards of its 230 partners, the cellars
became the first Cooperative of Moscato DOCG in Italy, increased the range
of wines produced and gradually extended its market in every continent,
proceeding meanwhile to technological and organizational improvements.
Today an efficient production line, ending up with a very modern bottling
plant, allows Vallebelbo to offer a real guaranteed quality and, in an
accurate appearance, a line of products to any parts of the world,
transferring directly from its vineyards to the final customer the taste,
the beauty and the soul of a unique and fascinating territory. |
